IIITB

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (iiit-b) is a new generation Graduate School focusing on ALL aspects of Information Technology (IT). Promoted by the Government of Karnataka (the Southern State in India, of which Bangalore is the capital) and the IT industry, iiit-b represents a model of Public-Private-Partnership that has set a new benchmark in the higher education system in India. Combining the freedom of the academia with the efficiency of the corporate sector, iiit-b represents a refreshing "paradigm shift" in academic administration. Operating within a Technology Park (ITPL, arguably the best address in India for high-tech companies), iiit-b's philosophy of "campus within a campus" has helped the Institute in establishing itself very quickly (within three years of its inception in 1999) as a source of high-quality Graduate students.

Using IT extensively through a networked campus and an "all digital" ambience, the educational delivery is truly "cutting edge"; helping the 250 strong alumni to occupy key positions in more than sixty corporations spread across more than a dozen countries. Naturally, iiit-b attracts outstanding students, faculty and staff, making it the "most happening place". The Governing Council with Mr. NR Narayana Murthy of Infosys as Chairman represents a virtual "Who's Who in India".
