Admission Information



We are happy that you are considering KCM for your admission to BBA or BBIS Program starting August 2008. We encourage applications from all eligible individuals interested in pursuing the BBA and BBIS programs. We seek to learn more about your goals and potential for success in study and life before making any final decision about your admission.

In addition to your previous academic performance, your interpersonal skills and motivation to excel in life are very important for us. Equally important is your behavior, for it shapes your study and career in future.

Each of you (prospective students) are encouraged to visit KCM and meet students to discuss our programs and activities.

Who can apply?

To apply for admission to BBA and BBIS programs, you must have successfully completed 10+2 examination from a school, college, university or board recognized by Kathmandu University with an aggregate of at least 50%. Students waiting for the final result of Class 12 or equivalent examination are also eligible to apply on provisional basis.

How to apply?

If you are outside of Kathmandu Valley, you may apply online.

You need to duly fill up an Admission Application Form available at the Admissions Office at the cost of NRs. 1000.00 (Non-refundable). You must complete all the information required in the form accurately. Any omission and/or misrepresentation of information may automatically result in disqualification of your application for admission.

Along with the duly filled application form, you must submit the following documents:

  1. Attested copies of mark-sheets or transcripts, transfer and character certificates of each level of examination (SLC, 10+2 examinations or their equivalent) passed.

  2. The original copy of Migration Certificate.

  3. Attested copy of your Citizenship Certificate or Passport (in case you are a Foreign Student).

  4. Seven copies of your recent photograph: five passport size copies and two auto size copies.

When to apply?

We accept admissions to BBA and BBIS programs only once a year. Normally the admission process for BBA and BBIS programs at KCM starts from the second week of June every year. However, you are advised to contact the college or read the leading newspapers for exact dates and other details about admissions during the month of June and July.

Key notes

You - the prospective students - are advised to read and understand the following points properly before you apply for admission to the BBA or BBIS program:

  • You are expected to report to college whenever called by the college.

  • The college reserves all rights to suspend or cancel the admission of any student in case s/he does not conform to the expectations of the college in terms of academic performance and personal behavior.

  • In order to complete the BBA or BBIS program successfully, you must be successful both in Continuous In-Semester Examinations (Internal Assessments) and the End - Semester Examinations.

  • It must be noted that Internal Evaluation at KCM is as important as End-Semester Examination.

  • You are required to attend a minimum of 90% of the total number of classes in every subject. Students not meeting the minimum attendance requirement, except in abnormal circumstances, will not be qualified to appear in End-Semester Examinations.

  • All mobile phones have to be switched off inside the class.

  • You are not allowed to eat or drink inside the classroom, information resource center or computer halls.

  • All information provided in this web site is subject to change without prior notice, if necessary, in the best interest of students, the college, university and the profession.

Admission Test

You are expected to complete the Admission Test successfully to be selected for admission. The admission test has three phases: Written Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The written test evaluates your ability in English, Mathematics and General Knowledge. Group discussion assesses your communication skills, reasoning and leadership potential. Similarly, the personal interview explores your interpersonal skills, leadership quality, career objective and motivation.

Selection Process

Your selection for admission will be decided on the basis of your performance in the admission test.

Preparation for admission test

The college is highly interested in providing you with every opportunity to perform better in the Admission Test, which is highly competitive. Once you submit the duly filled ADMISSION APPLICATION FORM to the Admissions Office at the college, you can obtain information on the details of CBAT(Computer Based Admission Test).

In addition, Senior Students at college conduct 'Entrance Preparation Class (EPC)' to help new applicants prepare for their admission test. For dates and details about the 'EPC' you can contact the Student Council or the Admissions Office at the college once admission for the new session is announced.

Practice on the computer lab

A major part of the Admission Test is computer-based test. New applicants seeking admission to BBA and BBIS programs need to appear in this CBAT. The college provides opportunity for new applicants to practice for the admission test at its computer center with supporting hands. Students outside Kathmandu Valley may obtain a username and password to practice the same test from their residence.To learn more about CBAT and the practice class, you should contact the Student Council or the Admissions Office at the college after you have submitted your admission application form.
